StashStock Spotlight: Sara Dritz

Sep 12, 2023

SARA DRITZ HEAD OF CUSTOMER SUCCESS

When you become a StashStock customer one of the first team members you will encounter is Sara Dritz. Her role is to make cultivators and their teams successful and help them meet their goals. That is probably where the conversation starts, with goals: Ease the burden of reporting to METRC, reduce harvest time, establish ways to scale operations…

As Head of Customer Success, Sara is focused on customers from onboarding to building long-term relationships. She is not just reacting to customer requests, but also anticipating their needs and charting a path to adopting StashStock solutions.

Currently, I'm implementing a 30, 60, 90-day check-in process. So, after 30 days of trying out the tool, I ask, "Do you feel that you understand it and are using it to its fullest potential?" Then, at the 60-day mark, there's another check-in to see if they want to explore a different tool.

At the 90-day point, during onboarding, I inquire about the company's goals. I remind them of their(initial)goals and ask if they feel they have achieved them, or If there's anything we can modify in their process to make it easier. And from there, I am consistently available to answer questions and I always stay in touch on a regular basis.

Sara is open to learning and changing, always improving.

I'm continuously tweaking the process and experimenting with what works and what doesn't. I use feedback from our customers and work with my development team to constantly improve the products.

Sara and Emily Richardson, COO of StashStock, are a close knit team, they share a focus on having a great process in place. Working together, they are evolving not just their process, but how they approach work and collaboration.

We have a great team that works really well together. I have so much room to learn while working with Emily. She is an outstanding leader; she allows me to research and develop ways to improve our customer experience, but is always there to help with ANYTHING I need. I have learned so much working under Emily. The entire team is amazing to work with. I feel like we have an amazing flow and communication between one another. StashStock gives each person a lot of space to grow and contribute our strengths to the team. I really love my job and working with this team!

When you talk to Sara, Emily, or anyone at StashStock, customers are top of mind, with Sara its what she loves about her job.

One of the things that I hope that my clients know is that I love talking with them day to day, obviously about the tools, but it is really cool to get to know all these different kinds of people that are pushed into this new environment where we're all learning at the same time and all trying to improve – It's just a completely different industry than I've ever been in before.

Sara was a nanny for 10 years prior to finding her second career in the cannabis industry. She spent some time working in a dispensary and building up her knowledge of the industry. StashStock allowed her to expand into tech and layer that with her deep interest in cannabis and cultivation.

I am not originally from a tech background, so I try not to use much tech jargon when I'm talking with customers and training them. I really want them to feel comfortable asking as many questions as they want. If they need to go over something multiple times, that's totally fine. I have empathy, because tech can be challenging for some people.

I try to be gentle with the customers and create a space for them to learn without any pressure, because this can be a fresh experience for some people and everyone is starting with different capabilities.

Sara is a prime example of why this industry is an exciting place to be. People here come from all backgrounds, different geographies, and varying levels of knowledge. All of this mixing up with an explosion in technology solutions for cultivators.

You're safe to be yourself in this industry. It's a very accepting environment, and you can be who you are and find your own path. I really enjoy getting to know the people I talk to everyday and understanding more about them. No one comes from cannabis as a career background since the industry is just starting to explode. We are all taking our strengths from other fields to build this new industry. There is space for everyone!

Sara’s positivity and impact goes beyond her customers and her team. She can’t help but share her excitement with others around her. She is always, and actively, connecting people. In her previous pre-tech career, she started an online community for Chicago Nannies to connect with other nannies in the area. She takes that same initiative within the cannabis industry to connect and continue to learn from a broader network of people.

Since being a part of the StashStock team, I have joined a lot of cannabis groups on LinkedIn to kind of understand the network. Recently I've joined a bunch of customer success groups to get ideas from other customer facing roles. I think understanding the bigger picture of everything really helps, and finding a community is the best way to see a bigger picture and understand different ways to improve the customer experience.

It’s hard not to be excited about being part of a growing business in a rapidly expanding industry. Sara’s excitement is infectious, and it drives her, beyond day-to-day work, to pulling people in and building community.

I am super enthusiastic about the cannabis industry and am always happy to help others find their place in this community. I am constantly trying to connect different people to cannabis roles. For example, at networking events, I try to get people who have never been to cannabis facing events to connect with different people in the industry. I just want everyone to know there's an opportunity for whatever you want to do in this space.

The future is exciting for Sara, StashStock’s ever evolving suite of solutions, and the industry at large. To go along with that, Sara is constantly trying to improve the customer experience, and looking to add more self-serve training options in the future.

The industry is in flux right now, and that adds to the excitement but also comes with strife. Rapid growth can result in growing pains, but it also presents opportunities. If you have a positive outlook like Sara Dritz it’s wide open for anyone to join in.

I've met a lot of really, really cool people working in cannabis. We initially bond over cannabis and then you find different connections.–I met one of my really close friends at the dispensary, she's such a powerful woman/cannamom. I love to see how we have both grown so much in such a short time. It's so cool to see outstanding people finding their footing in the industry and having so much room to thrive.

We're setting the standards right now, and there's endless opportunity for anyone who wants to be a part of the cannabis field! Cannabis has changed my life tremendously, from mental health to my career. I am looking forward to seeing how cannabis can build other healthy connections for the community, eg: a place of work where you feel seen (StashStock), alternative health options, and different social and cultural components. The possibilities are endless, and this is just the beginning.
